Update your original Mercedes-Benz COMAND APS NTG1 navigation system with the Europe V19.0 2018–2019 map DVD, retaining the factory screen and controls.

The system reads maps directly from the navigation DVD, normally located in the boot / luggage compartment.

🔧 System Compatibility

Designed exclusively for COMAND APS NTG1, with a full map display and DVD-based navigation.

Existing compatible DVDs commonly have references beginning A211, but the complete reference and system must be checked.

❌ DX / COMAND 2.0 CD navigation
❌ NTG2 or NTG2.5 HDD navigation
❌ NTG3 / NTG3.5 / NTG4 / NTG4.5 / NTG4.7

These dates are a guide. Later or facelift vehicles may use another navigation generation.

If your existing maps are particularly old, we can also check whether an intermediate update is needed.

⚠️ Older Software Versions

Some older NTG1 units may require a compatible 2012 navigation/software disc before recognising V19.

Where this update path is confirmed, the sequence is:

Compatible 2012 disc → complete software update → V19 2018–2019 map DVD

A disc-reading error alone does not confirm that a software update is required. Disc condition, compatibility and the navigation drive should also be checked.

The standard product contains the V19 map DVD. Please confirm arrangements for an intermediate disc if your system requires one.

📡 Traffic Information

This DVD updates the map database. It does not restore discontinued TMC broadcasts or include an online traffic service.

Traffic reception and traffic-based rerouting depend on supported providers and services operating locally. Availability is not guaranteed.

🛠️ Installation

1. Complete any confirmed intermediate software update first.
2. Switch on the vehicle and COMAND system.
3. Locate the navigation DVD drive and eject the existing disc.
4. Insert the V19 2018–2019 DVD.
5. Allow the system to recognise it and follow any on-screen prompts.
6. Leave the V19 disc inserted during normal navigation use.

Maintain stable vehicle power. Do not remove the disc, switch off the system or disconnect the battery during an active software update.

If the drive already struggles to read navigation DVDs, have it checked before starting.
