🔧 When Is a Firmware Update Useful?
An update may be appropriate to address a documented software issue or meet the requirements of a supported upgrade.
Potential reasons include Bluetooth pairing, audio streaming, hands-free calling or system stability problems. The relevant fixes depend on your existing version; firmware is not a guaranteed solution to every fault.
If your system works correctly and no planned upgrade requires different firmware, updating may not be necessary.
🚗 Vehicle & System Compatibility
For selected European RMC-equipped vehicles:
- Audi A1 / S1
- Audi Q3 / RS Q3
- Audi A6 / S6 / RS6 C7
- Audi A7 / S7 / RS7 C7
Existing software normally begins RMC_EU. Vehicle model and year alone do not identify the correct firmware.

Stable again
I wanted this mainly because my Audi’s RMC unit was beginning to show its age. It still worked, but small glitches were becoming more noticeable. After the firmware update, the interface feels cleaner, response times are better, and the whole system seems more dependable. A sensible update if you want to keep the original setup working properly.

A much cheaper version of the Audi mmi update software
Audi would have charged in excess of £200 to check out the car for this update so this SD card was a bargain.
